According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the unveiling ceremony of four knowledge-based products of the companies under Tapesh Knowledge-Based Accelerator were held in the presence of Ruhollah Dehghani, the Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hojjat-ul-Islam Seyed Mahdi Khamooshi, Head of Endowment Organization and Charity affairs and Javad Ghaffarzadeh, head of the General Department of Medical Equipment and Necessities of the Food and Drug Organization.

Endowments Organization's serious support for knowledge-based flow

Hojjat al-Islam Khamooshi, head of the Endowments and Charitable Affairs Organization, also pointed out the serious determination of this organization in the direction of productivity of the existing infrastructures and facilities of the country and stated: With the support that the Endowments Organization gave to this complex, it tried to build infrastructures and tools in the path of production cost, and fortunately, this movement has created value today, so that we can see the valuable achievements of the efforts of the specialists of these companies in the form of important consumer medical products.

He added: "The organization will continue this path strongly and in the field of infrastructure, land and nobles, the endowment organization will support the flow of knowledge and the production of science and technology."

The necessity of benefiting from the capacity of knowledge-based companies in the medical equipment industry

In another part of the ceremony, the head of the General Department for Medical Equipment and Necessities of the Food and Drug Organization, referring to the capacity of knowledge-based companies in the supply and production of medical and pharmaceutical items, said: One of the challenges in the field of medical equipment is that unlike the field of medicine and its manufacturers which are located next to the field of health, in the field of medical equipment, there is no continuous link with the field of medicine, and we must take advantage of the capacity of accelerators, research centers and knowledge-based companies in the field of health and treatment.

He stated that now more than 90% of the pharmaceutical industry is indigenous, but this amount is less than 40% in the field of medical equipment, and in 60% of dependence, knowledge-based and technological companies should be used, he said: the efforts of the General Department of Medical Equipment and Necessities, facilitation and speeding up the process of approvals and evaluations, but due to the high sensitivity and importance of this field, it should continue to be closely monitored until reaching a quality level to be present in the market.

It should be mentioned that in this ceremony, four knowledge-based products of Tapesh accelerator were unveiled, which are among the high-use, imported and advanced medical items, and their localization will prevent the annual loss of at least six million dollars.

The angiography tourniquet, which is used to close the artery on the wrist after angiography operations, was one of the items localized by internal specialists and unveiled in this ceremony. This product has an annual consumption of about 500,000 pieces, and the importation of it resulted in an exchange rate of about 2 million dollars annually.

Biopsy forceps, a tool that is used for sampling in endoscopic and colonoscopy operations, and about 400,000 of them are used annually, was another product that was localized by the researchers of this accelerator. The mass production of this knowledge-based product will prevent the departure of about 1.5 million dollars from the country every year.

The ligation clip, which is used to close the veins after laparoscopic operations and its annual consumption is 300,000 pieces, will block the annual exchange rate of about 2 million dollars with the production by domestic specialists.

The fourth medical product unveiled in this ceremony was orthodontic wire, which is widely used in dentistry and for correcting abnormalities in the arrangement of teeth. The annual consumption of 500,000 wires in the country is estimated, and by localizing this product, the country will save about 500,000 dollars in foreign exchange annually.
